Well, I willingly admit that I bribed Riley to go to the zoo with mi familia instead of with her class of juvenile offenders. So we spent Cinco de Mayo at the zoo. We had a blast. It was right before it started getting blazing hot so the day was great and the animals were still active instead of listless.

Ghost of the Bayou.............. AHah

Lion attack. She always says if she met a lion she would punch it in the face, but when it comes to real life......................... you can see the terror.

Max has less lion fear. He is silently sneering at my attempt to feed him to the fake lion. He lacks my sense of humor...............kind of like his dad.

The two party poopers

We came to watch the elephant feeding. It was fun to see their tricks. Their mouths were HUGE and nasty when they opened them to get fruit. But the best part of all, the part we just can't get over....................... one of the elephants peed a literal RIVER!! We still can't get over it to this day.

Finally, the real reason for visting the zoo, which is not the animals..............the TRAIN!!! Yippee. 24 seconds of chugging, huffing pleasure. We saved it for last so that all of the great animals that you never see rambling through the neighborhood, weren't a let down.

For me, there are not many things better than a day at the zoo with my family. I just never get sick of it.
